Northern Ireland prepares for web-based ECR

Health and Social Care Northern Ireland is “set to complete the first stage of preparation for its electronic care record within the next couple of weeks” according to a report.

The electronic care system, which will be released nationwide, is said to be ready for next April. Health and Social Care North Ireland signed a £9million contract with Orion Health, which stretches over seven years, in order to create a web-based ECR. (more…)

‘Working Together to Safeguard Children’ cut to 21 pages

In a bid to overhaul the children protection system, the government has published a revised version of the safeguarding guidance document, Working Together. Originally consisting of over 300 pages, the document has been stripped down to just 21 pages of guidance that “clearly states the law.” Aside from the revised document, the government has also launched a consultation on it and two new documents.
